Welcome to Anam Chara (å-num chå-rå) conscious end of life midwifery and support, where all aspects of the sacred end of life transition are honored.
First of all, I am so glad you landed here and want to honor you for your care and bravery in seeking support in this realm.
I hope to learn more about what brought you here soon, but either way, lots of love to you on your journey.
Some may ask why one would seek out this kind of support?
Most people put more planning into making sure their material things will be in order after death than making sure their own (and their family's) physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs will be met at this most impactful time.
Many only realize they or their loved one needed more support or that they did not fully plan to make sure their wishes (in terms of their own experience) will be known and upheld until it is too late.
Death is much more than simply a medical or legal event. Yet most of us who have companioned a loved one in their final days and hours realize that our culture and systems don't always provide for much more than the medical and legal aspects and are left with a sense that something was missing.
We also realize that those without strong advocates within our current systems can fall through the cracks.
Traditionally, midwives were the skilled attendants of the sacred portals of both birth and death -and they knew how to keep these transitions sacred. Today, these older ways are being revived and integrated into our modern ways to provide more balanced care as people feel the effects of the way the cultural pendulum has swung.
As a death midwife I provide personalized support to facilitate as beautiful and peaceful an end-of-life journey as possible while holding space for the most challenging aspects of death for those nearing end-of-life and their loved ones. Experience compassionate and holistic community death care.

As a Conscious Dying Institute graduate, certified hypnotist, and energy worker; I weave together specialized elements of counseling, coaching, hypnosis, guided meditation, and education to help people feel truly seen, held, and supported as they approach the end of life.

End of life midwives (also called death doulas today) help families focus on what matters most.
In our modern world, approaching death can often feel frightening and isolating. Surrounded by medical priorities, countless decisions and fear of loss, we often miss the chance to receive the kind of support that honors the full depth of our being.
In a culture that often prioritizes institutional routine over the lived experience, dignity and story of individuals at the end of life, a death midwife remembers that death is not a failure. Each transition is a sacred and universal threshold experience with unique needs. By drawing on both ancestral and modern wisdom, with compassionate presence we create space for important conversations, meaning, choice, resources and closure during this lifetime's final transition. This makes way for more peace, beauty, healing, and connection to enter.

Flexible Compensation
I look forward the day that death care is held outside of capitalism and returned to the scope of organic community care. Today, I need to ask for compensation for my time in order to do this work. I provide scaled pricing and ask that those who can pay more do, so that those who can not may also receive dignified end of life care.

Hi I am your anamchara (soul friend)!
You can call me Jacqui or Star Bear and I look forward to hearing more about your journey, needs, and desires.
Starting my career as a Special Education teacher with a Master's in Early Childhood Students with Disabilities from St. Joseph's University, Patchogue, NY; I eventually found that I was drawn to focus on supporting people of all ages to heal emotional pain, grow and meet life goals. I became a Reiki practitioner, minister with the Universal Life Church, certified hypnotist and life coach working through my private practices for about 10 years.
After companioning some loved ones through their death journey I began to feel very called to work exclusively in the end of life space. Extensive training and experience through the Sacred Passages Doula and Best Three Months Coaching certifications through The Conscious Dying Institute in Boulder, CO as well as with the East End Hospice center in Quiogue, NY has given me the tools and community to provide soulful and present end of life care.
